📜👩‍⚖️ Validation du Rapport 2020-2021 sur la Justice pour Mineurs : Ce qu’il faut savoir 🧒🏽🇧🇯

Le vendredi 4 août 2023, s’est déroulé l’atelier de validation du rapport concernant la justice pour mineurs des années 2020 et 2021. Cet événement, accueilli par le Centre de documentation et d’information juridique (Cdij) à Cotonou, a été inauguré par le Directeur adjoint de cabinet du ministère de la Justice et de la Législation, M. Ulrich Gilbert Togbonon.

L’atelier a vu la participation notable de juges spécialisés dans les affaires de mineurs, d’assistants sociaux de justice, de chefs de parquet, d’officiers de police judiciaire et des autorités de l’Office central de protection des mineurs. Une délégation de la présidente des femmes avocates du Bénin était également présente.

Au cœur de l’atelier, les participants ont assisté à une présentation détaillée du projet de Rapport sur la justice pour mineurs. Cette session a ouvert la voie à des débats enrichissants et à des propositions d’amélioration du processus de collecte des données.

Selon M. Stanislas Allagbé de la Dapaf, le Ministère de la Justice, avec le soutien de l’Unicef, a mis en place un “Guide de collecte des indicateurs de la justice des mineurs”. Ce guide a conduit à la création de tableaux de bord des indicateurs de justice pour les mineurs jusqu’en 2019. Ces outils sont aujourd’hui des références incontournables pour quiconque cherche des informations sur la justice des mineurs au Bénin.

M. Togbonon, quant à lui, a souligné l’importance d’un système judiciaire pour mineurs adapté aux réalités et besoins des enfants. Il a rappelé les principales réalisations de 2020 et 2021, notamment en matière de détention d’enfants, de la durée de la détention provisoire et de l’accompagnement post-libération ou placement.  M. Togbonon a exhorté tous les participants à s’investir activement en faveur des statistiques judiciaires, afin que ces informations précieuses puissent aider à mieux protéger et promouvoir les droits de l’enfant au Bénin.
