📊 Croissance et répartition des entreprises au bénin : Une augmentation de 62,8 % des entreprises en 15 ans
L’Institut national de la Statistique et de la Démographie (Instad) a publié le rapport du 3e Recensement des entreprises au Bénin pour l’année 2023, révélant une croissance significative du nombre d’entreprises et une concentration marquée dans le secteur tertiaire. Avec 252 155 unités économiques recensées, le Bénin affiche une augmentation de 62,8 % par rapport aux 154 839 entreprises enregistrées en 2008.
Le rapport indique que le milieu urbain abrite 75,1 % des établissements, témoignant de l’urbanisation croissante et du développement économique des zones urbaines. Le département du Littoral se distingue avec 24,7 % des entreprises, suivi de l’Atlantique (18,7 %), de l’Ouémé (13,6 %) et du Borgou (10,9 %).
En termes de localisation, 14,5 % des établissements opèrent dans les marchés, tandis que 85,5 % sont implantés ailleurs. Les départements du Littoral (6,6 %), de l’Ouémé (2,2 %), de l’Atlantique (1,5 %) et du Borgou (1,2 %) concentrent la majorité des activités commerciales dans les marchés.
Le secteur tertiaire domine largement avec 78,5 % des entreprises, contre 21,4 % pour le secteur secondaire et seulement 0,1 % pour le secteur primaire. L’artisanat et le commerce prédominent, représentant respectivement 45,6 % et 42,2 % des unités économiques. Les activités commerciales sont particulièrement concentrées dans le Littoral (12,6 %), l’Atlantique (7,8 %) et l’Ouémé (5,8 %).
Cette croissance des entreprises reflète un climat des affaires favorable, soutenu par les réformes gouvernementales récentes. Le recensement vise à collecter des données quantitatives et qualitatives pour analyser la dynamique des entreprises et améliorer le secteur productif.
Le recensement de 2023 a couvert toutes les entreprises avec un local fixe, incluant des unités économiques diverses comme les établissements semi-sédentaires et les unités de services. Cependant, certaines structures, comme les commerçants ambulants et les taxis-motos, n’ont pas été incluses.
Malgré quelques réticences des entreprises craignant le fisc, cette opération vise à promouvoir un environnement économique propice et à sécuriser les outils de production. Le succès de cette initiative dépendra de la continuité des efforts de sensibilisation et de la mise en place de politiques adaptées pour encourager la participation future.
