Tensions à la prison civile de Cotonou : échauffourées, gaz lacrymogènes et intervention militaire

 De violents incidents seraient en cours à la prison civile de Cotonou, où des échauffourées ont éclaté ce vendredi entre certains détenus et les forces de sécurité. Selon des témoins sur place, des tirs de gaz lacrymogènes ont été entendus, tandis que des prisonniers lançaient des projectiles — notamment des pierres — en direction des militaires.

L’ensemble des détenus a été enfermé dans leurs cellules pour tenter de rétablir l’ordre. À cette heure, les raisons exactes de cette montée de tension restent inconnues, mais l’intervention musclée des forces de l’ordre témoigne d’un climat extrêmement tendu à l’intérieur de l’établissement.

Le dispositif sécuritaire a été renforcé autour de la prison, et des unités militaires supplémentaires ont été déployées en renfort.   Les autorités n’ont, pour l’instant, communiqué ni sur les causes de l’incident, ni sur d’éventuelles victimes ou blessés.
