🎤⚖️ Iran : Le rappeur Toomaj Salehi condamné à mort en pleine contestation nationale
Le rappeur iranien Toomaj Salehi, connu pour son soutien vocal aux manifestations civiles et ses paroles critiques envers les politiques gouvernementales, a été condamné à mort pour “corruption sur terre”, l’une des accusations les plus graves en Iran. Cette mesure judiciaire extrême intervient en réponse à son engagement dans les vastes mouvements de protestation déclenchés par la mort de Marsha Amini.
À 33 ans, Toomaj Salehi est devenu une figure culturelle et politique significative en Iran. Sa musique, qui résonne fortement avec la classe ouvrière et les groupes défavorisés, l’a rendu populaire mais aussi un symbole de résistance contre le régime oppressif. Sa capacité à articuler les luttes et les injustices auxquelles sont confrontés de nombreux Iraniens à travers ses paroles poignantes et politiquement chargées lui a valu une attention nationale et internationale.
L’arrestation de Salehi en octobre 2022 a suivi sa participation active aux mouvements de protestation qui ont balayé l’Iran. Le rappeur avait auparavant évité la censure pour produire des clips musicaux qui défient directement le régime, en dépeignant sa nature oppressive et en dénonçant le manque de justice dans le pays. Sa popularité et son influence en ont fait une cible, aboutissant à son arrestation peu après une interview avec la télévision canadienne CBC, où il critiquait ouvertement le gouvernement iranien.
Suite à sa condamnation, un soutien massif de la part d’artistes et d’activistes du monde entier, y compris de figures notables comme la dessinatrice Marjane Satrapi, a été observé. La communauté internationale a exprimé une profonde préoccupation concernant la répression de la liberté d’expression et la sévérité de la peine infligée à des artistes comme Salehi qui osent exprimer une dissidence.
La condamnation de Toomaj Salehi est un rappel sévère des risques encourus par les artistes et les activistes dans les régimes qui répriment brutalement la liberté d’expression. Ce cas a non seulement mis en lumière les abus continus des droits humains en Iran mais a également mobilisé un soutien mondial pour les libertés démocratiques dans le pays. La communauté internationale continue de suivre de près, appelant à la justice et au respect des droits humains en Iran, dans l’espoir que la pression mondiale puisse conduire à une révision de la sentence sévère de Salehi.
