Deux sous-officiers de l’Armée béninoise ont perdu la vie au Centre National Hospitalier et Universitaire (CNHU) de Cotonou, après avoir été gravement blessés lors d’un incident pyrotechnique survenu à Toffo, une ville située dans le département du Zou au Centre-sud du Bénin. L’incident est survenu le 02 mai dernier et les deux sous-officiers ont succombé à leurs blessures le lendemain au CNHU de Cotonou.
Selon les informations fournies par les autorités, les deux sous-officiers étaient en mission de sécurisation lorsqu’ils ont été touchés par l’explosion. Les circonstances exactes de l’incident ne sont pas encore claires, mais une enquête a été ouverte pour déterminer les causes de l’explosion.
Le ministre béninois de la défense, Fortunet Alain Nouatin, a exprimé ses condoléances aux familles des victimes et a assuré que tout serait mis en œuvre pour déterminer les circonstances exactes de l’incident. Il a également rappelé l’importance de la sécurité dans les missions de l’armée béninoise et a souligné que des mesures seraient prises pour éviter de tels incidents à l’avenir.
