Le Ministre de la Justice et de la Législation en visite de courtoisie à la Haute Autorité de l’Audiovisuel et de la Communication
Le Garde des Sceaux, Ministre de la Justice et de la Législation, Yvon Détchénou, poursuit sa série de visites de courtoisie auprès des différentes Institutions de la République. Cette initiative s’inscrit dans le cadre de sa nouvelle fonction qui inclut les relations avec ces Institutions. Après avoir visité l’Assemblée Nationale la semaine dernière, le ministre s’est rendu à la Haute Autorité de l’Audiovisuel et de la Communication (HAAC) ce mercredi 3 mai 2023 pour rencontrer le président Rémi Prosper Moretti. Cette visite revêt une importance particulière pour renforcer la collaboration entre les deux institutions, notamment en matière de régulation des médias.
En effet, la HAAC est chargée de réguler le secteur de l’audiovisuel et de la communication au Bénin. Sa mission consiste notamment à garantir la liberté d’expression tout en veillant au respect de la loi et à la déontologie dans le traitement de l’information. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, la HAAC est en lien avec le Ministère de la Justice et de la Législation, notamment pour traiter les éventuelles plaintes ou contentieux liés à la régulation des médias.
La visite du Garde des Sceaux à la HAAC est donc une occasion de renforcer la coopération et la collaboration entre les deux institutions pour assurer une régulation efficace du secteur de l’audiovisuel et de la communication. La rencontre entre le ministre et le président de la HAAC a été l’occasion d’échanger sur les enjeux et les défis auxquels fait face le secteur, ainsi que sur les actions à mener pour améliorer la qualité de l’information et renforcer la déontologie des médias.
Cette visite de courtoisie illustre la volonté du gouvernement de promouvoir une bonne collaboration entre les différentes institutions de la République pour atteindre les objectifs de développement durable du Bénin. Elle témoigne également de l’importance accordée à la liberté d’expression et à la déontologie des médias, des enjeux majeurs pour la consolidation de la démocratie et de l’Etat de droit au Bénin.
