Dans un entretien exclusif accordé à France 24 et Radio France Internationale, le ministre français des Affaires étrangères, Stéphane Séjourné, partage ses réflexions et les engagements de la France à la suite de sa première tournée africaine, qui l’a mené à Nairobi, Kigali, et Abidjan. Séjourné a également abordé les tensions dans l’est de la République démocratique du Congo, réaffirmant l’engagement de la France à promouvoir la paix et à encourager le dialogue entre les parties rwandaise et congolaise. Il a souligné l’importance de reprendre les discussions pour éviter une escalade de la violence dans la région.
Franc CFA et Relations avec le Sénégal
Face aux changements politiques au Sénégal et aux discussions sur la réforme du franc CFA, Séjourné a exprimé le respect de la France pour la souveraineté des États africains dans la gestion de leurs affaires monétaires. La victoire de Bachir Diome au Sénégal, avec sa promesse de quitter le franc CFA, marque selon le ministre un moment démocratique important qui témoigne de la vitalité des institutions sénégalaises.
Défis Contemporains et Vision Future
Le ministre a également touché à des questions plus larges telles que les efforts de paix dans la région des Grands Lacs, la position de la France sur la crise en Ukraine, et l’impact potentiel des élections européennes sur la politique étrangère de la France. Il a souligné l’importance de l’unité européenne face aux défis sécuritaires mondiaux et a rappelé l’engagement de la France à soutenir l’Ukraine face à l’agression russe.
