Urgent : Patrice Talon appelle le Niger à clarifier sa position
Lors de son discours sur l’état de la nation prononcé ce jeudi 22 décembre 2023 au parlement, le président du Bénin, Patrice Talon, a appelé le Niger à clarifier sa position sur la transition politique en cours dans le pays.
“La prise de pouvoir par les armes est à condamner”, a déclaré le président Talon. “Le Niger doit jouer sa partition en exprimant clairement ses attentes et ses intentions.”
Le Niger est sous le coup de sanctions économiques de la Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (CEDEAO) depuis le 30 juillet dernier. Ces sanctions ont été imposées à la suite du coup d’État militaire qui a renversé le président Mohamed Bazoum.
“La balle est dans leur camp”, a déclaré le président Talon. “Ils doivent donner des gages de leur volonté de discuter et d’écouter les attentes de la communauté internationale.”
