L’Architecte Burkinabé Francis Kéré Recevra le Crystal Award à Davos 2024

Davos, 15 janvier 2024 – L’architecte burkinabé renommé, Francis Kéré, lauréat du Prix Pritzker en 2022, a ajouté une nouvelle distinction à son impressionnant palmarès lors de l’ouverture de la réunion annuelle du Forum économique mondial à Davos. Il a reçu le prestigieux Crystal Award, qui est décerné depuis des années à des leaders culturels pour leur engagement en faveur de la conservation de la faune, de la protection de l’environnement, ainsi que des droits de l’homme.

Cette reconnaissance souligne le rôle essentiel de Francis Kéré dans la promotion de l’architecture durable et de l’impact positif de son travail sur sa communauté. En tant qu’ambassadeur du Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement, il a également été impliqué dans des projets éducatifs et humanitaires.

Dans son discours de remerciement, Francis Kéré a exprimé sa gratitude pour cette distinction, déclarant : “Je me sens très honoré et encouragé par ce prix. Il offre une plus grande visibilité à mon travail, et de nombreuses personnes viendront vers moi. Je compte sur votre soutien. Vous êtes notre élite, et si vous me soutenez, je pourrais produire avec plus de qualité et de confort, apportant ainsi de l’espoir au monde à travers mon travail.”

Les Crystal Awards ont également récompensé d’autres personnalités exceptionnelles. Le guitariste, compositeur et humanitaire Bono a été honoré pour son engagement continu dans la lutte contre le racisme systémique, l’inégalité et l’injustice à travers la musique et l’activisme. Les organisateurs de l’événement ont salué son génie créatif et son dévouement à la création d’un monde plus pacifique, équitable et inclusif.

L’actrice Michelle Yeoh, d’origine asiatique et lauréate de l’Oscar de la meilleure actrice, a également été distinguée par un Crystal Award en reconnaissance de sa carrière exceptionnelle.

Ces récompenses mettent en lumière l’importance de l’engagement de ces personnalités dans des domaines cruciaux tels que la préservation de l’environnement, les droits de l’homme et l’égalité, ainsi que leur impact positif sur la société. La cérémonie de remise des prix au Forum économique mondial de Davos rappelle l’importance de la collaboration entre les leaders culturels, économiques et politiques pour résoudre les défis mondiaux les plus pressants.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
