Sommet du G20 à Rio : Lula plaide pour une réforme de la gouvernance mondiale et une taxation des super-riches 🌍💼

Le G20 qui se tient à Rio de Janeiro a offert une tribune de choix au président brésilien Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva pour défendre deux projets ambitieux : la réforme des institutions de gouvernance mondiale et l’instauration d’un impôt mondial sur les milliardaires. Lula, déterminé à positionner le Brésil en tant que leader des pays du Sud global, n’a pas mâché ses mots en critiquant les déséquilibres de la mondialisation et les failles des institutions internationales.

Une réforme du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU réclamée avec force ⚖️🔄

Dans son discours lors de la deuxième séance plénière du sommet, Lula a une nouvelle fois dénoncé le droit de veto détenu exclusivement par les cinq membres permanents du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU (États-Unis, Russie, Chine, France, Royaume-Uni). Il a appelé à une réforme profonde pour accorder une plus grande participation aux pays en développement, citant notamment le Brésil comme un candidat légitime à une place permanente.

Pour Lula, ces réformes sont nécessaires pour garantir une gouvernance mondiale plus équitable et inclusive. “Il est temps que les pays du Sud global aient leur mot à dire dans les décisions qui façonnent l’avenir du monde”, a-t-il martelé.

Une taxation mondiale pour réduire les inégalités 💰🌱

Lula a également profité de cette occasion pour promouvoir un projet phare de son mandat : la taxation des super-riches. Il a proposé un impôt minimal de 2 % sur les fortunes des milliardaires, qui pourrait, selon une étude commandée par le Brésil, générer jusqu’à 250 milliards de dollars par an. Ce montant, a-t-il expliqué, pourrait être utilisé pour financer des initiatives cruciales, telles que la lutte contre la pauvreté, la réduction des inégalités, et la protection de l’environnement.

Cependant, ce projet rencontre des résistances. De nombreux pays membres du G20 défendent leur souveraineté fiscale, rendant peu probable l’inclusion de cette proposition dans la déclaration finale du sommet.

Le Brésil comme porte-voix des pays du Sud global 🌏🤝

Depuis son retour au pouvoir, Lula s’est activement positionné en leader des pays du Sud global, cherchant à renforcer les dialogues entre ces nations. Il critique ouvertement les échecs de la mondialisation néolibérale et milite pour une coopération fiscale internationale qui bénéficierait davantage aux populations les plus vulnérables.

Ce sommet de Rio marque une étape importante pour le Brésil, qui cherche à s’affirmer sur la scène internationale comme un acteur clé des débats sur la justice sociale, la durabilité environnementale, et la réforme des institutions mondiales.
