🇬🇧🤝🇧🇯 Renforcement des Liens Économiques : Le Bénin et le Royaume-Uni Signent un Accord Historique

Dans un mouvement stratégique visant à renforcer les liens économiques entre le Bénin et le Royaume-Uni, un protocole d’accord a été signé cette semaine, ouvrant la voie à une nouvelle ère de coopération et d’investissement entre les deux nations. Le ministre béninois de l’Économie, des Finances et des Programmes de dénationalisation, Romuald Wadagni, et le PDG de UK Export Finance (UKEF), Tim Reid, ont scellé cet accord, sous les yeux d’Harriet Thompson, ambassadrice non-résidente au Bénin et haut-commissaire non-résidente au Togo.

Un Engagement Financier d’Envergure

Le soutien financier promis par l’UKEF jusqu’à 4 milliards de livres sterling aux projets locaux au Bénin marque une étape significative dans les efforts du Royaume-Uni pour étendre sa présence économique et soutenir le développement en Afrique de l’Ouest. Ce soutien s’inscrit dans une stratégie plus large visant à renforcer l’accès des entreprises britanniques, de toutes tailles, aux marchés émergents de la région, offrant ainsi des opportunités inédites de croissance et de collaboration.

Un Impulsion au Commerce et à l’Investissement

La visite de Tim Reid, alignée avec une mission commerciale britannique dirigée par DMA Invest, souligne l’engagement du Royaume-Uni à dynamiser le commerce et l’investissement avec le Bénin. La construction de la route Sokode-Bénin par Hitech Construction, financée à hauteur de près de 70 millions de livres sterling par l’UKEF, et le développement de la cité ministérielle de Cotonou, bénéficiant de plus de 100 millions de livres sterling de financement, sont des exemples tangibles de la solidité de cette coopération bilatérale.

Vers un Avenir Prometteur

Ce partenariat ne se limite pas aux infrastructures et à l’investissement mais ouvre également des perspectives pour des projets dans les domaines de l’électrification rurale, des transports, et bien d’autres secteurs clés pour le développement durable du Bénin. Il s’agit d’un signal fort de la confiance et de l’intérêt mutuel entre le Bénin et le Royaume-Uni, promettant un avenir prospère basé sur le commerce, l’investissement, et une vision partagée de croissance et de progrès.
