Renaissance Culturelle au Bénin: Comment  l’ ADAC entend Soutenir l’Économie Culturelle

L’Agence de Développement des Arts et de la Culture (ADAC) du Bénin a franchi une étape majeure dans son développement avec l’installation officielle de son Conseil artistique, le 20 juillet 2023. Cette annonce intervient à un moment crucial pour le secteur culturel béninois qui est sur le point de connaître une véritable transformation.

Créée par décret en Conseil des ministres, l’ADAC est une institution dont la mission est de promouvoir l’économie culturelle et artistique du Bénin. Elle couvre la production et la promotion artistiques et culturelles, apporte un soutien technique et financier aux artistes, et contribue à la coopération internationale et au développement partenarial. Le Conseil artistique est composé de onze membres sélectionnés pour leur expérience avérée dans leurs domaines respectifs. Ces experts prodigueront des conseils et évalueront les projets artistiques et culturels soumis à l’ADAC pour accompagnement. Le mandat de ces conseillers est d’une durée de trois ans, renouvelable.

Lors de l’installation du Conseil, le Ministre du tourisme, de la culture et des arts, M. Babalola Jean-Michel ABIMBOLA, a dévoilé les grands axes de travail de l’ADAC. L’agence travaillera à dynamiser la chaîne des valeurs culturelles, développera des actions de valorisation du potentiel artistique béninois, et mettra en œuvre le Projet de création du Quartier Culturel et Créatif (QCC) de Cotonou. Le Ministre a également assuré que le financement des projets culturels et artistiques sera désormais minutieux, ne sera plus à fonds perdu et qu’il devrait contribuer à la création d’emplois et à l’impact sur le PIB du pays. Il a souligné que “le Gouvernement est déterminé à faire en sorte que les arts et la culture deviennent une véritable source de richesse pour un pays comme le Bénin.”

Le Conseil artistique de l’ADAC est une étape décisive pour le développement de l’économie culturelle du Bénin. Le nouveau mécanisme de financement des projets culturels et artistiques annoncé par le Ministre, loin d’être un simple guichet de distribution de fonds, promet d’apporter une valeur ajoutée significative à l’industrie culturelle du pays.
