Mahamat Déby, Candidat du MPS à la Présidentielle du Tchad : Quelles Conséquences pour la Transition ?
Le paysage politique au Tchad connaît un nouveau développement significatif avec la désignation de Mahamat Déby, fils du regretté Président Idriss Déby Itno, en tant que candidat du Mouvement Patriotique du Salut (MPS) à l’élection présidentielle. Cette décision ne constitue pas une surprise, car le dialogue national de 2022 avait ouvert la voie aux acteurs de la transition, y compris Mahamat Déby, pour se présenter s’ils le souhaitaient.
La désignation de Mahamat Déby comme candidat à la présidentielle ne laisse guère de place au suspense, bien que l’intéressé n’ait pas encore confirmé sa candidature. La nouvelle Constitution, adoptée récemment, confère désormais au président de la transition tous les attributs d’un chef d’État en exercice. Mahamat Déby a également réussi à rallier à sa cause ceux qui contestaient la légitimité de son pouvoir de transition.
L’opposant historique, Succès Masra, a accepté le poste de Premier ministre proposé par Mahamat Déby. Cependant, cette nomination pourrait s’avérer être un piège, car la structure du pouvoir reste largement inchangée. Certains membres de l’opposition craignent qu’il ne puisse pas réellement faire progresser la démocratie et organiser des élections transparentes dans ces conditions.
Le principal défi qui attend le nouveau président de transition, Succès Masra, est l’organisation d’élections crédibles et transparentes. Les Tchadiens attendent une élection qui ne soit pas entachée de manœuvres douteuses et de contestations. Cette tâche s’annonce ardue, car les précédentes élections au Tchad ont souvent été marquées par des irrégularités et des accusations de fraude.
La nouvelle équipe au pouvoir, dont le secrétaire général du MPS, Mamad Zen Bada, a été récemment nommé, doit faire preuve de transparence et de volonté politique pour relever ce défi électoral. Le succès de Succès Masra dépendra en grande partie de sa capacité à organiser des élections libres et équitables, sans contestations majeures de la part des acteurs politiques.
En fin de compte, le Tchad se trouve à un moment charnière de sa transition politique. Le pays attend des changements significatifs dans le processus électoral pour garantir une démocratie plus forte et un avenir politique stable. L’évolution de la situation politique au Tchad sera suivie de près par la communauté internationale et les Tchadiens eux-mêmes, qui aspirent à une transition réussie vers un système politique plus inclusif et démocratique.
