🇹🇩 L’opposition tchadienne appelle au boycott des élections, dénonçant un manque de démocratie

Alors que les élections législatives et locales tchadiennes prévues pour le 29 décembre approchent, le climat politique à N’Djamena devient de plus en plus tendu. Une coalition de l’opposition appelle à boycotter le scrutin, tandis que le parti au pouvoir intensifie sa campagne avec des rassemblements festifs, des visites de proximité et des rencontres dans les marchés.

Un appel au boycott

Les partis d’opposition affirment que participer à ces élections revient à légitimer un système de pouvoir qu’ils considèrent comme antidémocratique. Selon eux, les résultats sont déjà prédéterminés, rendant le processus électoral inutile. Pour cette raison, ils encouragent leurs partisans à rejeter le vote, qu’ils perçoivent comme une simple formalité visant à valider un régime qu’ils accusent d’être autoritaire.

Une mobilisation dans les marchés

Des membres d’un parti d’opposition, principalement composé de femmes et connu sous le nom de GCAP, ont été aperçus dans les marchés animés de N’Djamena, distribuant des tracts marqués d’une croix rouge. Ces documents exhortaient la population à ne pas participer au scrutin à venir. Ce même groupe s’était déjà illustré en appelant à boycotter le référendum constitutionnel de décembre 2023 ainsi que l’élection présidentielle de mai 2024.

Un contexte politique tendu

Lors de l’élection présidentielle de 2024, Mahamat Idriss Déby, proclamé président par l’armée après la mort de son père, avait été réélu dès le premier tour. Cette victoire avait suscité des critiques de la part de l’opposition, qui dénonçait un processus électoral injuste et manipulé.

Alors que la date des élections approche, le fossé entre le pouvoir et l’opposition continue de se creuser, laissant planer l’incertitude sur le niveau de participation et les conséquences politiques de ce boycott.
