Le 18ème tour cycliste du Bénin s’est terminé avec des résultats peu glorieux pour l’équipe béninoise. Les cyclistes locaux ont en effet terminé derniers dans le classement final, avec Sidi Zoukarini à la 50ème place, clôturant ainsi la compétition en queue de peloton.
La compétition s’est déroulée du 02 au 06 mai 2023. Quatorze pays, représentés par 75 coureurs professionnels, ont participé à cette compétition qui s’étend sur une distance totale de 748 km. Les coureurs ont parcouru cinq (05) étapes, à savoir : Boukoumbé-Djougou, Djougou-Parakou, Savalou-Bohicon, Bohicon-Comè, Sehoue-Porto-Novo, avant finir sur les routes de Cotonou.
L’équipe béninoise était composée de plusieurs cyclistes talentueux qui avaient pour mission de représenter fièrement leur pays lors de la compétition. Malheureusement, leur performance n’a pas été à la hauteur des attentes. Pourtant, les béninois ont montré de belles prouesses tout au long de la compétition. Cependant, cela n’a pas suffi pour remonter dans le classement général.
De nombreux facteurs ont contribué à la performance peu convaincante de l’équipe béninoise, notamment le manque de préparation adéquate. Toutefois, le 18 ème tour cycliste du Bénin a été une occasion pour les coureurs béninois de montrer leur talent et leur détermination. Même s’ils ont terminé derniers, ils ont représenté leur pays avec dignité et courage, et ont montré leur passion pour le cyclisme.
Les étapes ne sont pas conformes à celles communiquées par la fédération de cyclisme du Bénin organisateur du tour. En plus, il y a beaucoup de phrases contradictoires dans l’article qui ne reflètent pas la réalité de la performance des cyclistes béninois au cours de la compétition.
