L’ambassadeur Peng JINGTAO chez à Patrice Talon après six ans et demi au Bénin

L’ambassadeur de la République populaire de Chine près le Bénin, Peng JINGTAO, a été reçu en audience par le président béninois Patrice Talon, le mardi 29 octobre 2024, au Palais de la Marina. Après six ans et demi de mission à Cotonou, le diplomate chinois a profité de cette rencontre pour faire ses adieux.

Un témoin du développement béninois

Lors de cette audience, Peng JINGTAO a exprimé sa fierté d’avoir assisté aux transformations significatives qu’a connues le Bénin pendant son mandat. « J’ai eu la chance de voir de grands changements au Bénin. Le grand développement du Bénin, le Boulevard de la Marina, l’état d’esprit. […] Je suis fier d’être un participant à la construction du Bénin », a-t-il déclaré. Il a également salué les progrès en matière d’infrastructures et d’activités socio-économiques, tout en soulignant son engagement à consolider l’amitié entre la Chine et le Bénin.

Une coopération renforcée

L’ambassadeur a réaffirmé la solidité des relations sino-béninoises, fruit des décisions prises par les présidents Patrice Talon et Xi Jinping. Il a souligné que cette coopération ne changerait pas, car elle profite aux deux nations. « L’orientation de développement […] est décidée par les deux Présidents. […] Cette orientation ne peut pas changer parce que c’est une orientation qui a fait bénéficier nos peuples », a-t-il ajouté.

Peng JINGTAO a rassuré de la continuité de la coopération entre les deux pays, et a mentionné que la Chine avait déjà désigné un nouvel ambassadeur pour poursuivre les efforts entrepris.

Cette rencontre marque la fin d’un chapitre diplomatique important dans les relations bilatérales, avec une amitié qui continue de s’approfondir au bénéfice des deux nations.
