Réckya Madougou a bouclé cette semaine 1000 jours de prison. Arrêtée le 3 mars 2021 et condamnée pour le crime de « financement du terrorisme » par la cour de répression des infractions économiques et du terrorisme (CRIET), l’ancienne garde des sceaux purge une peine de vingt (20) ans de prison depuis le 05 mars 2021. Ce 30 novembre 2023, cela faisait donc 1000 jours de prison pour celle qui a tenté de se présenter à l’élection présidentielle d’avril 2021.
Troublantes révélations
Une épreuve de plus en plus insoutenable pour l’ex-conseillère spéciale du président togolais, Faure Gnassingbé, qui semble avoir craqué. Dans une adresse solennelle faite au président de la République, à l’occasion d’une interview diffusée ce vendredi 1er décembre 2023 sur Bip Radio, maître Renaud Agbodjo, a fait de troublantes révélations sur les dispositions actuelles de sa cliente vis-à-vis du pouvoir et de son chef : « Aujourd’hui au Bénin, Réckyath Madougou est la personne qui peut même mieux servir vos intérêts après la fin de vos deux mandats constitutionnels », a-t-il lancé au président la république qu’il a invité à ne pas écouter les gens de son entourage qui ne seraient motivés que par leurs intérêts à court et moyen terme. Et pour convaincre le président de la sincérité de son offre, Me Renaud Agbodjo a rappelé les liens familiaux intimes qui lient Patrice Talon à la famille Madougou. « Je sais combien vous aimez cette famille. Je vous en supplie, ne laissez pas la politique et les intérêts du moment gâcher tout ce que vous avez emmagasiné comme relations fraternelles avec la famille Madougou.»
En rupture avec l’opposition ?
Réckya Madougou serait-elle finalement descendue de son piédestal après deux ans et demi de lutte parfois outrancière ? Tout porte à croire que « l’amazone » n’a plus la force de se battre, et ne croit surtout plus en la capacité de Boni Yayi et de ses amis Les Démocrates, à la sortir de sa situation. L’intransigeance que le Chef de l’État a réitérée le 27 novembre dernier à propos de son cas a fini de la convaincre qu’il était temps de changer de fusil d’épaule et de prendre ses distances avec l’opposition. Me Renaud Agbodjo l’assure, « Réckya Madoudou n’a pas (n’a plus) de ressentiment vis-à-vis du chef de l’état » et serait même prête à lui « présenter ses excuses » s’il consentait à aller parler avec elle en prison.
Le Président talon saisira-t-il la main tendue de Réckya Madougou ? La politique réserve bien des surprises. Toujours est-il que cette sortie médiatique a pris de court toute l’opposition, surtout à son aile la plus dure. « Je dois reconnaître que les déclarations de Me Agbodjo sont intrigantes », a confié à Les Pharaons un responsable de l’opposition qui a requis l’anonymat. Un autre, en exil depuis bientôt 5 ans, dit « comprendre la lassitude de madame Madougou et son envie de sortir de prison par tous les moyens ».
Une chose est sûre, cette volte-face radical de Réckya Madougou constituera un tournant majeur dans l’animation de la vie politique béninoise.
