En Europe, la question de la reconnaissance de l’État de Palestine divise depuis des années. Actuellement, 12 des 27 pays membres de l’Union européenne ont reconnu cet État. La France, bien qu’elle soutienne la solution à deux États, a jugé l’initiative prématurée. “Nous croyons en une résolution négociée et en une paix durable qui peut uniquement être atteinte par un dialogue et des négociations bilatérales,” a affirmé un porte-parole du gouvernement français.
