Exclusif : Supposé Coup d’Etat au Bénin – Sévérin Quenum et Rock Niéri n’ont reçu aucune convocation

Depuis les récentes allégations d’une tentative de coup d’État au Bénin, le paysage médiatique est devenu le théâtre d’une guerre d’information alimentée par des officines de désinformation. Au cœur de cette tourmente, des rumeurs persistantes concernant la convocation d’un ancien ministre du Président Patrice Talon, Sévérin Quenum, ont émergé.

Les informations relayées par plusieurs journaux et organes de presse,  affirment que M. Quenum aurait été convoqué par la police républicaine dans le cadre d’une enquête en cours. Cette annonce a suscité une onde de choc au sein de l’opinion publique. Cependant, l’entourage de l’ancien ministre a rapidement réagi.  Des proches du Ministres joints par notre Rédaction, ont catégoriquement démenti ces allégations, affirmant que ni Sévérin Quenum ni sa famille n’ont reçu de convocation de la part des autorités. Cette réponse souligne l’importance de vérifier les informations avant de les diffuser, surtout dans un contexte aussi délicat.

La responsabilité des médias

La propagation de fausses informations durant une crise est un phénomène malheureusement courant, mais qui a des conséquences néfastes. Les médias ont la responsabilité de servir de vigilance et d’informer le public avec précision, sans céder à la tentation de relayer des rumeurs non vérifiées. Les enjeux sont d’autant plus importants dans un pays comme le Bénin, où la confiance envers les institutions est déjà mise à mal par des tensions politiques croissantes.
