Conférence de Presse sur l’affaire Boko – Les avocats racontent un enlèvement sous haute tension

Les avocats de Oswald Homeky et Olivier Boko ont tenu une conférence de presse au Chant d’oiseau de Cotonou, cette nuit du 24 septembre 2024. En effet dans la matinée du 24 septembre 2024, un événement troublant s’est produit à Cotonou, suscitant une vive inquiétude dans les milieux politiques et parmi les citoyens. Olivier Boko, a été intercepté alors qu’il se rendait au domicile du chef de l’État. Son enlèvement, survenu à hauteur de l’ancien siège de la Sonacop, a pris des allures de véritable coup de force selon les avocats.
D’après les informations disponibles, un véhicule banalisé aurait barré la route au couple, qui se trouvait à bord de leur voiture. Des individus armés, agissant sans uniforme apparent, ont pris Olivier Boko en joug et l’ont conduit vers une destination inconnue, sous les yeux de son épouse impuissante. Depuis cet incident, aucun détail n’a été révélé quant à son lieu de détention ou son état de santé, plongeant la famille, les proches et les observateurs dans l’incertitude.
Selon les avocats, le droit positif béninois interdit fermement les arrestations et détentions arbitraires. Le cadre légal garantit à chaque citoyen, même en cas de privation de liberté, le droit à l’assistance médicale ainsi que la possibilité de recevoir des visites de ses proches. Or, dans cette affaire, aucune procédure judiciaire ne semble avoir été engagée contre Olivier Boko. Il n’a été visé par aucune convocation officielle, ni inculpé pour un quelconque délit, ce qui soulève de nombreuses interrogations sur les motivations réelles de cette interpellation brutale ont conclu les avocats.
