Commémoration des Héros : L’Armée Béninoise Rend Hommage aux Soldats Tombés lors de l’Attaque de Bob DENARD il y a 47 Ans 🎖️

16 janvier 2024 – En ce jour mémorable, l’armée béninoise a rendu hommage aux soldats courageux qui ont sacrifié leur vie il y a 47 ans lors de l’attaque menée par le mercenaire français Bob DENARD. Cette commémoration solennelle a eu lieu à la place du souvenir, où le Général de brigade Fructueux GBAGUIDI a déposé une gerbe en l’honneur des martyrs.

Il y a près de cinq décennies, le Bénin était le théâtre d’une attaque perpétrée par un groupe de mercenaires dirigé par le français Bob DENARD. Leur objectif était de renverser le régime du président Mathieu KÉRÉKOU. Après de féroces combats qui ont duré plusieurs heures, les forces armées béninoises ont réussi à repousser ces ennemis de la nation, tristement célèbres pour leurs actes de déstabilisation en Afrique.

Au cours de ces affrontements héroïques, de nombreux soldats béninois ont perdu la vie sur le champ de bataille. En ce jour de commémoration, l’armée béninoise a tenu à leur rendre un vibrant hommage en déposant une gerbe devant le Monument dédié aux Martyrs du 16 janvier 1977. Le Général de brigade Fructueux GBAGUIDI a exprimé sa reconnaissance envers ces valeureux soldats, soulignant que leurs sacrifices ne seront pas oubliés.

“Nous ferons en sorte que chaque fois que nous sommes attaqués, ce soit le dernier jour pour nos assaillants. Le Bénin doit toujours être défendu par ses soldats”, a déclaré le Général GBAGUIDI lors de son discours émouvant.

Dans un contexte marqué par les incursions de groupes terroristes dans la région septentrionale du pays, les forces armées béninoises, à l’image de leurs prédécesseurs, demeurent déterminées à défendre l’intégrité et la souveraineté nationale.

Cette commémoration rappelle à tous que le Bénin n’oublie pas ses héros tombés au service de la nation et renforce la détermination de l’armée à protéger le pays contre toute menace extérieure. Les soldats tombés en 1977 restent des symboles de courage et de sacrifice pour le Bénin, et leur mémoire perdurera à jamais dans l’histoire nationale.
