Budget Défense nationale 2024 : 7,5% d’augmentation pour renforcer les capacités des forces armées

Le budget de la Défense nationale du Bénin pour l’année 2024 connaît une augmentation de 7,5 % par rapport à 2023, passant de 78,6 milliards de francs CFA à 85,1 milliards de francs CFA. Cette augmentation est due à plusieurs facteurs, notamment :

Le renforcement des capacités humaines des forces armées, avec un recrutement massif de jeunes patriotes et une formation complémentaire de qualité. L’augmentation des dépenses de fonctionnement des unités, pour faire face aux besoins de sécurisation du territoire national, notamment dans le nord du pays, et la poursuite des réformes entamées, notamment en matière de nouveau maillage du territoire national et de renforcement des capacités opérationnelles des troupes.

Le ministre de la Défense nationale, Fortunet Nouatin, a présenté le budget 2024 de son département devant la représentation nationale le 21 novembre 2023. Il a souligné que cette augmentation permettra de renforcer la capacité opérationnelle des forces armées pour faire face aux menaces sécuritaires auxquelles le Bénin est confronté, notamment dans le nord du pays. Il a précisé aussi que ce budget va contribuer à améliorer le bien-être des personnels des forces armées, en leur garantissant des conditions de travail et de vie dignes.

Les députés ont salué les efforts et sacrifices des personnels des forces armées béninois, et ont estimé que l’augmentation de 7,5 % est insuffisante. Ils ont recommandé une augmentation de 10 %, afin de permettre aux forces armées de disposer des moyens nécessaires pour remplir leurs missions. La représentation nationale a également recommandé une attention particulière aux troupes en mission, notamment en ce qui concerne leur protection sociale et leur reconversion professionnelle.

L’augmentation du budget de la Défense nationale pour 2024 est une bonne nouvelle pour les forces armées béninoises. Elle permettra de renforcer leurs capacités opérationnelles et de garantir le bien-être de leurs personnels. Cependant, les députés estiment que cette augmentation est insuffisante, et recommandent une augmentation de 10 %.
