Boeing 737 MAX : 171 avions cloués au sol après un incident aux États-Unis ✈️

Washington, 8 janvier 2024 – L’agence fédérale de l’aviation américaine (FAA) a ordonné la mise à terre de 171 avions Boeing 737 MAX, après qu’une section du fuselage d’un appareil de la compagnie Alaska Airlines se soit détachée du reste de l’avion vendredi soir, peu après le décollage de Portland, dans l’Oregon.

L’incident, qui s’est produit à 22h45 heure locale, n’a pas fait de victimes. L’avion, qui transportait 173 passagers et six membres d’équipage, a pu atterrir en toute sécurité à Portland.

La FAA a indiqué que les inspections des 171 avions cloués au sol devraient durer entre quatre et huit heures. Il faudra donc plusieurs jours avant que tous ces appareils puissent retrouver les airs, ce qui va occasionner des retards pour les compagnies aériennes.

Cet incident s’ajoute à une série d’autres ayant touché le Boeing 737 MAX. En 2018 et 2019, deux accidents mortels impliquant ce modèle d’avion avaient fait 346 morts. Ces accidents avaient conduit à la mise à terre de tous les Boeing 737 MAX dans le monde pendant plus d’un an et demi.

Le modèle impliqué dans l’incident de vendredi soir, le Boeing 737 MAX 9, est différent du Boeing 737 MAX 8, impliqué dans les deux accidents mortels. Cependant, l’incident s’ajoute aux préoccupations sur la sécurité de ce modèle d’avion. Boeing a déclaré qu’il collaborait avec la FAA pour enquêter sur l’incident. L’entreprise a indiqué qu’il n’y avait aucune indication que l’incident ait été causé par un problème de conception ou de fabrication.
