UNFPA et le Bénin Unis pour l’Empowerment des Jeunes 🇧🇯💬🌍
Dans un engagement marqué pour l’avancement des questions de population et de développement, le président béninois, Patrice Talon, a accueilli Natalia Kanem, Directrice Exécutive du Fonds des Nations Unies pour la population (UNFPA), ce jeudi 04 avril 2024, au Palais de la Marina. Cette rencontre de haut niveau s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un événement significatif, le Dialogue mondial des jeunes, qui se déroule au Bénin pour célébrer le 30ème anniversaire de la Conférence Internationale sur la Population et le Développement (CIPD).
Un Dialogue Mondial au Bénin
Le Dialogue mondial des jeunes, organisé les 04 et 05 avril 2024, offre une plateforme d’échange unique pour les jeunes du monde entier. L’objectif est de discuter de leur rôle crucial dans les domaines du développement, de la paix et de la sécurité. L’initiative de tenir cet événement au Bénin souligne l’engagement du pays à promouvoir les questions jeunesse au niveau international.
L’Empowerment des Jeunes au Cœur des Échanges
Natalia Kanem a exprimé sa gratitude envers le chef de l’État pour son soutien à l’organisation de cet événement d’importance mondiale à Cotonou. Elle a souligné l’importance de l’engagement des jeunes dans les processus de développement et de maintien de la paix, affirmant que « les jeunes ont un rôle primordial à jouer » dans ces domaines.
Le Bénin, un Modèle de Promotion Féminine
La rencontre a également été l’occasion pour Mme Kanem de louer les efforts du Bénin en matière de promotion et d’autonomisation des filles et des femmes. Ces actions sont essentielles pour atteindre les objectifs de développement durable et assurer une croissance inclusive.

L’audience s’est tenue en présence d’Abdoulaye BIO Tchané, Ministre d’État chargé du Développement et de la Coordination de l’Action gouvernementale, soulignant l’importance que le gouvernement béninois accorde à ces questions.

La rencontre entre le président Talon et la Directrice Exécutive de l’UNFPA symbolise une volonté commune de travailler en faveur de l’empowerment des jeunes, notamment des filles et des femmes. Cet événement marque une étape importante pour le Bénin, qui se positionne comme un acteur clé dans la promotion de la jeunesse et de l’égalité des sexes sur la scène internationale.
