🎓🔍 Valeur du CEP au Bénin : Un diplôme toujours pertinent ou un simple rite de passage ?

Au Bénin, le Certificat d’Études Primaires (CEP) a longtemps été perçu comme un événement majeur dans le parcours scolaire d’un adolescent. Une reconnaissance qui marque l’entrée dans le monde des études secondaires et qui est célébrée avec fierté par les familles. Toutefois, à l’ère actuelle, ce diplôme conserve-t-il sa valeur ou est-il devenu un simple rite de passage ?

Lors d’une récente rencontre à Porto-Novo entre journalistes et le ministre de tutelle, Salimane Karimou,  la pertinence du CEP a été remise en question. Nombreux sont ceux qui considèrent désormais ce diplôme comme obsolète, suggérant son remplacement par un simple contrôle des connaissances pour passer du CM2 en 6e. Pour le ministre , éliminer ce diplôme serait prématuré. “Si vous n’évaluez pas, vous ne pouvez pas découvrir le niveau de difficultés”, a-t-il souligné, mettant l’accent sur l’importance de la pédagogie et des méthodes d’enseignement.

L’importance de ce diplôme dépasse également les limites de l’éducation. Pour de nombreuses personnes, en particulier les plus âgées, le CEP est souvent requis pour attester de leur scolarité, notamment dans le monde professionnel. Ce qui renforce son importance dans la vie quotidienne des Béninois. En conclusion, si la pertinence du CEP fait débat, son rôle dans la société béninoise reste indéniable. Cependant, avec l’évolution du système éducatif, il est crucial de réfléchir à sa place et à son utilité à long terme.
