Le lundi 17 juillet, une formation essentielle a eu lieu à Cotonou, visant à renforcer la culture des droits humains au Bénin. Organisée par Amnesty International Bénin, la formation a rassemblé des responsables d’associations professionnelles et des journalistes dans le cadre du projet “Renforcement d’une culture des droits humains au Bénin à travers les médias de masse et les conducteurs de taxi-motos”.
L’atelier, qui a eu lieu au Chant d’Oiseau de Cotonou, avait pour objectif de sensibiliser les participants à leur rôle crucial dans la promotion et la protection des droits humains. Le Directeur Exécutif d’Amnesty International Bénin, Dieudonné Dagbeto, a mis l’accent sur les objectifs et le contexte de cette initiative.
Le projet, qui bénéficie d’un financement intégral d’Amnesty International, vise à outiller 200 professionnels des médias et 20 responsables d’associations de presse sur les droits humains et les techniques d’investigation dans ce domaine. “C’est utile et pertinent d’associer les journalistes à cette initiative et de les aider à se rappeler leur rôle, fondamental dans la préservation de bons rapports entre les humains sur la planète”, a souligné Thanguy Agoï, Secrétaire Général de l’Observatoire de la Déontologie et l’Éthique dans les médias (ODEM). La formation sera également organisée à Porto-Novo, Bohicon et Parakou, et comprendra la visite de certaines institutions œuvrant dans la promotion et la défense des droits de l’homme.
