Une rencontre d’une importance capitale s’est tenue à Cotonou entre la Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique et les promoteurs d’établissements privés d’enseignement supérieur. Cette réunion visait à aborder diverses questions relatives à la reconnaissance, au mode de fonctionnement et aux formations dispensées dans ces institutions privées. L’objectif était d’aboutir à une meilleure compréhension des textes régissant le secteur et de concrétiser les réformes nécessaires pour garantir un enseignement supérieur de qualité au Bénin.
L’initiative de cette rencontre émane de l’autorité ministérielle elle-même, qui a souhaité instaurer un dialogue constructif avec les promoteurs d’établissements privés. Cette année a été désignée comme “l’année des établissements privés”, mettant ainsi l’accent sur les réformes et la politique d’assainissement de ce sous-secteur de l’enseignement supérieur. Au cours de cette rencontre, les promoteurs d’établissements privés ont pu soulever un certain nombre de difficultés, notamment en ce qui concerne l’accompagnement de l’État, l’orientation des nouveaux bacheliers, les procédures d’homologation et d’agrément, la question des formations anglophones, les impositions fiscales, ainsi que les examens nationaux.
La Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur a écouté attentivement ces préoccupations et a exprimé sa volonté de trouver des solutions appropriées. Elle a affirmé que des mesures seraient prises pour accélérer les processus d’homologation et d’agrément, afin de faciliter le développement et le rayonnement de l’enseignement supérieur privé au Bénin. Dans un souci de transparence et d’efficacité, la Ministre a annoncé que cette concertation avec les promoteurs d’établissements privés serait désormais permanente. Un mémorandum sera également présenté à l’autorité de tutelle, afin de formuler des propositions concrètes pour améliorer le secteur de l’enseignement supérieur privé.
