🚫 La liste des  Établissements Privés d’Enseignement Supérieur  fermés au Bénin

La Direction Générale de l’Enseignement Supérieur du Bénin, dirigée par Youssao Abdou Karim Issaka, a récemment ordonné la fermeture de plusieurs établissements privés d’enseignement supérieur pour non-respect de la réglementation en vigueur. Cette décision, soutenue par la police républicaine et le cabinet de Me Hortence Bankolé, huissier de justice, a été mise en exécution depuis quelques heures dans diverses localités, notamment à Cotonou et Igolo.

Parmi les établissements fermés figurent l’Institut Supérieur de Communication (ISCOM), l’Institut Universitaire Africain du Bénin, Poma University, Triumphant University, EDEXEL et ELTC. Selon les autorités, ces établissements opéraient en violation flagrante des règles établies par le ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur, incluant l’ouverture de filières non autorisées et la création de sections anglophones sans approbation officielle.

En outre, certains établissements n’ont pas présenté de candidats aux examens nationaux de Licence et de Master depuis 2017, une situation qui remet en question leur crédibilité académique. L’enquête a également révélé que plusieurs de ces institutions accueillent un personnel administratif et des étudiants majoritairement étrangers, notamment des Nigérians, et ne respectent pas les normes d’infrastructure minimales requises pour leur fonctionnement. ELTC, par exemple, a été fermé à Igolo pour avoir opéré sans former les étudiants, se contentant de les orienter vers d’autres écoles au Bénin, au Togo, et au Ghana.

Malgré un sursis d’un an (2019-2020) accordé à certains établissements pour se conformer aux exigences légales, beaucoup n’ont pas régularisé leur situation. L’opération de fermeture, qui a débuté à Cotonou et dans le département du Plateau, s’étendra bientôt sur tout le territoire national, selon les autorités compétentes.

Cette décision vise à assainir le secteur de l’enseignement supérieur au Bénin et à garantir que seuls les établissements conformes aux normes légales et pédagogiques puissent opérer. Elle envoie également un message fort aux autres institutions privées, les exhortant à se conformer strictement aux directives du ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur.
