🚢 L’hôpital flottant « Arche de la Paix » en mission humanitaire à Cotonou pour soigner les Béninois gratuitement 🌍
Le jeudi 17 octobre 2024, le navire hôpital chinois, « Arche de la Paix », a accosté au Port autonome de Cotonou pour une mission de soins de santé destinés aux populations béninoises. Cette mission humanitaire, qui durera du 17 au 24 octobre, offrira des soins gratuits à plus de 3000 patients. Le directeur de cabinet du ministre de la santé, Pétas Akogbéto, et le secrétaire général du ministère des Affaires étrangères, Franck Afoukou, ont visité ce navire imposant dès son arrivée, marquant ainsi l’ouverture officielle de cette opération de solidarité internationale.
Le navire « Arche de la Paix », mis en service en 2008 par la Marine chinoise, est une véritable clinique flottante, équipée de 226 lits. Il dispose de services médicaux avancés, dont une salle pour les brûlures graves, des soins intensifs, des équipements de radiographie numérique et de tomodensitométrie, un laboratoire, ainsi que des installations pour les interventions chirurgicales complexes. Les Béninois pourront également bénéficier de consultations en stomatologie, d’une salle de préparation de sang et d’un centre d’information médicale.

Pour profiter des prestations médicales offertes par l’« Arche de la Paix », les populations sont invitées à se rendre au ministère de la Santé afin de prendre un rendez-vous. Un service de transport en bus est également mis à disposition des patients pour leur acheminement vers le Port autonome de Cotonou, où le navire est stationné.

Cette mission s’inscrit dans le cadre des relations diplomatiques solides entre la Chine et le Bénin. Depuis son lancement, le navire hôpital a déjà visité 45 pays, pris en charge plus de 290 000 patients et réalisé 1 595 interventions chirurgicales, renforçant ainsi son rôle crucial dans la diplomatie sanitaire chinoise à travers le monde.
