🇧🇯  Bénin : L’activiste Hugues Comlan Sossoukpè dans le viseur du gouvernement  

Le vendredi 17 janvier 2025, lors d’une conférence de presse, le porte-parole du gouvernement béninois, Wilfried Léandre Houngbedji, s’est exprimé sur les récentes publications controversées de l’activiste Hugues Comlan Sossoukpè. Ce dernier est connu pour ses critiques acerbes à l’encontre de la gouvernance de Patrice Talon et ses alertes sur des sujets sensibles, parfois démenties par les autorités ou proches du pouvoir.

L’activiste au cœur des controverses

Hugues Comlan Sossoukpè a récemment attiré l’attention en affirmant détenir des informations sensibles sur des événements tragiques, notamment l’attaque terroriste ayant coûté la vie à 30 soldats dans le nord du Bénin. Ses publications incluaient également des affirmations sur un crash d’hélicoptère militaire et une attaque terroriste   aux chutes de Koudou, rapidement démenties par des activistes proches du gouvernement. Malgré cela, l’activiste  a continué de défendre ses publications, affirmant protéger ses sources et dénonçant ce qu’il qualifie de « manœuvres de déstabilisation visant à étouffer la vérité ».

Une réponse ferme du gouvernement

Le porte-parole du gouvernement, tout en évitant de nommer directement Sossoukpè, a dénoncé ce qu’il considère comme une dérive dangereuse dans l’utilisation des réseaux sociaux. « Nous devons tous aimer le Bénin. Notre première religion doit être le pays. On ne peut pas s’autoriser les légèretés que certains s’autorisent sous prétexte de réseaux sociaux ou de combats politiques hypothétiques », a déclaré Wilfried Léandre Houngbedji.

Soulignant la nécessité de préserver l’unité nationale dans un contexte sécuritaire fragile, il a ajouté : « Ces inventions et manipulations ne servent qu’à affaiblir la nation. Ceux qui sont dans ces officines doivent sortir de ça. Le Bénin est plus grand que nous tous. »

Les déclarations de Sossoukpè illustrent une fracture entre les activistes critiques et les partisans du gouvernement. Tandis que certains saluent son rôle de lanceur d’alerte, d’autres dénoncent une volonté délibérée de nuire à la cohésion nationale en diffusant des informations non vérifiées.
