🇧🇯 Retrait des troupes françaises du Bénin : le gouvernement  répond fermement aux  revendications syndicales sur les troupes étrangères 💬

Face à l’annonce d’une journée d’hommage organisée par les centrales syndicales le samedi 18 janvier, en mémoire des soldats tombés lors de l’attaque terroriste dans le Nord du Bénin, le gouvernement a réagi fermement. Lors de son point de presse, le porte-parole Wilfried Léandre Houngbédji a critiqué avec vigueur les revendications de ces organisations, notamment leur exigence du retrait des troupes françaises du territoire.

Des accusations qualifiées d’irresponsables

Wilfried Houngbédji a rejeté les allégations sur la présence de bases militaires étrangères au Bénin. « Il n’y a pas de base militaire française ou de quelque autre nationalité dans notre pays. Nous avons des accords de coopération avec plusieurs nations, mais jamais d’accord de défense impliquant une base étrangère », a-t-il affirmé. Le porte-parole a également dénoncé l’irresponsabilité de certains responsables syndicaux. Selon lui, ces derniers profiteraient de la douleur nationale pour diffuser de fausses informations et attiser la polémique. « Faire le jeu de l’ennemi en répandant des mensonges est non seulement irresponsable, mais aussi un manque de patriotisme », a-t-il ajouté.

Un contexte sécuritaire tendu

Le gouvernement a rappelé que le Bénin traverse une période complexe sur le plan sécuritaire, marquée par la recrudescence des attaques terroristes dans la région des trois frontières. Dans ce contexte, de fausses accusations sur la présence de troupes étrangères risquent de nuire davantage à l’unité nationale et aux efforts de lutte contre le terrorisme. Wilfried Houngbédji a exhorté les syndicats à concentrer leurs efforts sur des actions constructives pour honorer les soldats tombés au front et soutenir les initiatives nationales de défense. « Le peuple béninois mérite mieux que de voir son unité et ses sacrifices utilisés à des fins politiciennes », a-t-il conclu.
